About Rachael
Rachael Parsons Svendsen, M.S., LMFT earned her Masters in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, from California State University, Northridge.
She has been working with trauma survivors since 2014. Rachael has a drive to offer healing within the therapeutic relationship to individuals suffering from treatment resistant trauma in the queer community, religious trauma survivors, adoptees and foster care alum, sexual assault survivors, child abuse survivors and therapists surviving burn out. So many individuals in these communities are living with persistent physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms of trauma.
Most mental health care offers symptom management, not meaningful relief. Through the somatic reprocessing of trauma within the safe therapeutic relationship, relief is possible and tangible.
I hold certifications in complementary resourcing and re-processing services: psychedelic somatic interactional psychotherapy (PSIP) and trauma stabilization treatment (TIST).
My Story
I am just like you in so many ways. I have been in therapy for years, been on and off medications, tried all the trauma treatments, and wound up feeling like there was something still missing in my healing journey. I struggled with chronic health issues, physical pain, and debilitating mood dysregulation. Receiving a C-PTSD diagnosis and seeking appropriate treatment have been instrumental in my healing journey. Psychedelic therapy and supportive adjunctive therapies have been instrumental in my path towards wholeness. I am excited to partner with you to support you as you find healing for yourself.
